This Block is dedicated to Allen Nichelini, tenth child of pioneer winemaker Anton Nichelini and the most famous of the Nichelini children, who became an all American football star in the 1930's. These 30 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines have the distinction of being our oldest Cabernet vines. These Cabernet grapes grow on the highest level of our vineyard, take on the rich characteristics of hillside grown grapes, deep dark colors, with rich tannin structure. These are small crops with intense blackberry fruit flavors. Their age and the longer ripening characteristics brought on by the Chiles Valley gives these vines outstanding balance.
