This block is dedicated to Pioneer wine maker Anton Nichelini's eldest son William. William was a second generation winemaker and grape grower for the Nichelini Family. He was responsible for the expansion of Nichelini land holding in Chiles Valley and purchased this property with his brother in 1928. Chiles Valley is known for its impressive Zinfandel grapes, and our Block 1 has clones dating back to 1884. With our sunny but cool, elevated climate and well-drained soil, Nichelini's have been growing superb Zinfandel for over 100 years.
